Over 60,000 work permits have been issued under legislation enacted in 2008 that allows greater labour migration to Sweden.
Few of these migrants stay in Sweden for longer periods. ”Open fears of excessive immigration have not been borne out”, states Karin Ekenger, Labour Market Specialist at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise.
